A Bluetooth OBDII Scan Tool That Just Works

I admit it. I’m a geek. I love tech, and your standard $30 scan tool just doesn’t cut it for me anymore. I want something I can plug into my OBDII port, and then use my phone to manage it. That’s where this one from BlueDriver comes in. It’s still under 100 bucks, and does so… much… more!

It’s called the BlueDriver Bluetooth OBDII Scan Tool, and it works with a smartphone app supported on iOS and Android. You just plug the BlueDriver into your vehicle (1996 or newer) and then connect to your phone via bluetooth. Once that’s done, anytime you get into your vehicle and fire it up, it’s connected to your phone and ready to go.

But this isn’t just any old scan tool, either. Yes it will look up your trouble code when your check engine light comes on and tell you what’s what, and does so from its database of 30 million fixes that have been verified by certified pro mechanics. This has so much value by itself.

Not only can it do its basic job that you need it for, but you can leave the app running while you’re driving to monitor via it’s cool live graphs. It will show you real-time what’s going on, basic engine stuff like temperatures, fuel pressure, RPM, boost, and a whole lot more (depending on your vehicle).

It also has something I have used multiple times with other scan tools: smog check. It will tell you whether or not your vehicle is ready before you take it in for a smog check, saving you time and money. One more thing and then I’ll shut up. Ever find yourself lacking on keeping up with recall notices for your vehicle, and technical service bulletins (TSBs)? Well, this guy shares that info with you, and so much more.

If you’re a geek like me, geek out on this hidden gem. I’ve tried it in multiple vehicles, and it works great!
