Easy HP Bolt On Mod For Your Vehicle
One of the easiest aftermarket products to install that not only gives you great sound but more power is a cold air intake kit, or fuel injection performance kit (FIPK), like this K&N Intake Kit. It’s available for most cars and trucks, including Dodge, Jeep, Ford, Chevy, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and many more.
K&N is a quality product and has proven itself over the years in many vehicles with millions of combined miles. You can even find them in race cars. Follow the instructions, step by step, and you can install one in under an hour. For less than $300 (for most vehicles), it gives your vehicle more cold air to breathe, and increases power by 5%. Oh, and that growl!
I have one in my supercharged 2011 Ford Mustang and it does an amazing job. It looks incredible when you pop the hood, too. If you happen to be in tricky places like California, most of them are even CARB certified, unlike many other cold air intake kits out there. That makes the dreaded smog check go a lot easier.
Once a year you have to clean the filter with a filter service kit to keep the air flowing freely, as you would have to do with any air intake kit. The only other suggestion that I have, now that you’ve opened up the front end to breathe better, is to also do the same with the back end by installing an aftermarket cat-back exhaust kit.
